Cigarette butt

Oct. 21st, 1997

　今日はAAAを呼んで、エンジンのかからない私の車を修理場までレッカー移動してもらおうとしました。AAAの人が来たので、「ほら、エンジンがかからないで....。」「ブルブルブルルン！」
　あらっ、エンジンがかかりました。結局AAAの人にはごめんなさいをして、自走して車を購入したUniversal Autoまで持っていきました。購入した直後もヘッドライトのちょっとしたトラブルがあったので、もう許せません。本当は保証なしなのですが、修理費を半分もってもらうことにして、とにかくしっかり整備をするように車を置いてきました。

　さて、呆れる位本当に色々なことが起こります。

　車関係のことを一通り済ませてほっとしてアパートに戻ると、ドアに一通の手紙がはさまっています。
　怒りと呆れの余り全文掲載です。(^_^;

It has been brought to my attention that lite cigarette butts are being thrown over your balcony to the balcony below you and also onto the common area of the building, below you.

This is very dangerous as it is a possible fire hazard and besides this, a lite cigarette butt could fall onto either someone on the balcony or walking in the common area of the
building below you. This will not be tolerated. If I receive any further complaints of this continuing to happen, you will be given notice to vacate the premises.

　実は以前にもDear Residentというかたちで、火のついたタバコの投げ捨てを止めるようにという通知が私の部屋の周りに配られていました。
　ところが今度は名指しです。完全に犯人扱いになって、今後更にクレームが上がった場合は、立ち退きさせるとまで書いてあるじゃないですか。何を根拠にこう書いてきたかは知りませんが、腹立たしいこと極まりありません。

　明日朝一番で身の潔白を証明しに行かなければいけません。
